On Monday we took a family trip to Goblin Valley State Park. We didn't tell the kids where we were going. We told them we would be getting up early and going for a long drive to a very fun surprise destination.
Ben woke up at 2:30am. He came downstairs wearing his clothes, shoes and coat. He asked if it was time to go yet. Oy.
Anyway, after sending him back to bed we actually got off at about 7:00 am. And drove, and drove, and drove.
And then we arrived. And the suspense was totally worth it!! The kids thought they'd died and gone to heaven! It was pretty windy and chilly...but we bundled up and went on a trek!

The kids are so excited to go back and explore some more!! Next time we plan on going down for a couple of day and spending the night in one of the yurts at the campground! :)

Oh, my kids have recently befriended the Sherman kids. It's funny she remembered us from when you 2 came and picked apricots! Small world.

I read your post last night, but didn't comment. Then, all I could think about last night was how much fun that looked. I hiked there one time during college and it was so much fun, now I know that we need to take our kids there too.
