Ellie, age10: "I just thought of another reason why it's possible that mermaids are actually mammals."
Mom: "Um. What's that?"
Ellie: "Because there are a lot of stories about mermaids and merfolk marrying humans...and if they weren't mammals then their children would just be freaks of nature."
Erm....Like part-fish part-human creatures...otherwise known as mermaids?
