I overbaked...er...burned...um, well...cremated, some of the pieces, but they turned out pretty well all told.
The kids had a lot of fun deciding what it would look like and decorating it. Lilly helped with measuring ingredients, mixing, and rolling the dough. It was so cute! I wish I would have taken some pictures of that!

We used leftover Halloween candy, sprinkles, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, and other items we had on hand...the only item we bought to decorate with was a box of candy canes!!! Because of that the kids came up with some creative uses for things like tootsie rolls, M&M's, and Sunbursts!

I love this picture, because you can see that Maddie's mouth is CRAMMED FULL of candies! We estimate that she had about 70 Jolly Ranchers and other assorted candies between the hours of 4:00 and 8:30pm. The other kids would start to make a little pile of candies they wanted to use and they would just disappear! We realized Maddie was just picking them up and eating them as we went!

What an amazing job you all did!!! Congratulations to a fun and talented decorating/building team! The gingerbread house looks fabulous :o) (Truly, it does look good enough to eat! And, it sounds like Maddie had enough "tastes" along the way to know!) P.S. Out of curiosity, did anyone get any sleep that night with Maddie so full of sugar?! Ahhhh, the joys of Christmas...
Wow! That is one cool house. Uncle Jeff says you're lucky little Maddie didn't have to go to the emergency room for a sugar coma...What fun!
