Ellie loves to hum. At the breakfast table. While watching movies. While drawing. While doing chores. During Sacrament meeting. ALL the time.
The other night during dinner she was humming away, and Marc asked if she hummed during class, at school. She told him that sometimes she did. We asked if that bothered people. She said she didn't think so, but sometimes the kids who sit next to her tell her to stop "in a mean way."
We told her that other kids might find it hard to do their work if she was humming. We told her that she should probably save humming for when she was at recess, so that she didn't bother the other kids while they were concentrating on their work. We told her that humming during class was disruptive to the teacher, too.
Moments after our little talk Ellie said: "Um...can I please resume humming now?"
